CES Student Wins Holiday Card Contest

Congratulations, to Jackson McLean, in Mr. Sandgren’s class at Citrus Elementary School. Jackson is the winner of the “2019 Tuttle Holiday Card Contest.” At the January 28th Board Meeting, Mr. Doug Tuttle, from Tuttle Law, presented Jackson with his framed artwork that was shared across the country on Tuttle Law’s holiday card. Each student and teacher who participated in this contest were given a gift card to the Vero Beach Book Center from Tuttle Law. Thank you, Mr. Tuttle, for supporting our ESE students and teachers through this contest for 18 years.

Citrus Elementary Autism Awareness Walkathon
Citrus Elementary's 3rd Annual Autism Awareness Walkathon

The classrooms of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder from Citrus Elementary will be hosting its 3rd Annual Autism Awareness Walkathon on Monday April 29th from 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. The proceeds from this event go directly towards educational programing for the students at Citrus Elementary, with a portion also being donated to the John Keller Scholarship at Vero Beach High School. SDIRC Achieves 92% Graduation Rate

The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) released student graduation rates for the 2017-18 school year. Indian River County improved its graduation rate by almost 5 points; increasing from 87.1% in 2016-2017 to 92% in 2017-2018. This exceeds the State of Florida’s graduation rate by almost 6 percentage points.
